Susan L Walaszek has more than 17 years combined experience as an attorney, trainer, author and human resource professional. Before founding HR Compliance Consulting, Sue practiced law and later worked in a variety of human resource and training positions in private, public and not-for-profit sectors, including energy, manufacturing, government, and higher education.
Combining real-life experiences with humor and interactive discussions, Sue is a sought after national trainer and presenter. Her knowledge of employment law and day-to-day human resource responsibilities bring a practicality to her recommendations. She currently travels throughout the US consulting with employers on employee relation issues and conducting training workshops on HR best practices and employment laws.

Sue earned her Bachelor's degree from Loyola University in Chicago with dual majors of Criminal Justice and Distinctions in Political Science, an MBA and Master's degree in Management & Organizational Behavior with a Certificate in Managing in a Professional Technical Environment from Benedictine University, and a law degree from John Marshall Law School. Sue is a licensed Illinois Real Estate Broker, Illinois Pre-Licensing Real Estate Instructor and is licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois.
ACTIVITES
Sue volunteers her time in various community activities including serving on the Downers Grove Friends of the Library Board and as a Commissioner on the Downers Grove Human Services Commission. Her professional memberships include: Comfort for Critters, the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), and the Itasca Bank & Trust Co.'s Women's Initiative.
Sue is also an adjunct professor teaching courses in Business Law, Human Resources Management, Introduction to Management, Employee Training & Development and pre-licensing real estate courses. She has been a featured Lawline.com faculty member providing online continuing legal education and has conducted employment workshops for Council on Education in Management in partnership with The George Washington University.
